Thinkable Studio's CAD and prototyping phase transforms a validated design direction into manufacturing-ready engineering data, as well as physical and ergonomic proof. This phase is the midpoint of our concept-to-production process, situated between design strategy and final visualization.
How do we take a concept from sketch to something you can actually hold?
Once a design direction is set, we move into CAD engineering to build manufacturing-ready data across multiple platforms, from precision surfacing in Autodesk Alias to production CAD in Pro/Engineer/Creo, Rhino3D, and SolidWorks. In parallel, we start prototyping early, because a rendering on screen and a part in your hand tell you very different things about whether a design will actually work.
This is where ideas either hold up or reveal problems worth solving before tooling begins.
What we actually figure out during this phase:
Will this design actually work as engineered, not just as a sketch?
We build manufacturing-ready CAD data across multiple platforms, catching engineering issues before they become expensive tooling problems.
What does this feel like in someone's hand, not just on a screen?
Our in-house Stratasys J55 lets us prototype in realistic looking materials, finishes, and colours. Often within days, not weeks.
Is this ready to hand off to a manufacturing partner?
We will validate iterations against production reality by working directly with toolmakers for feedback and refine-loops. This ensures the CAD datasets we hand over are practically production-ready, minimizing final adjustments on their end.
